JSW to invest Rs 65,000 crore for steel, cement plants in Odisha

JSW Group stated that it will establish an integrated steel plant, a power plant, a port facility, and a cement plant in Jagatsinghpur, Odisha, with an investment of Rs 65,000 crore. The steel plant is anticipated to have a capacity of producing 13.2 million tons of steel annually, resulting in the creation of 30,000 jobs.

The port and jetty project is expected to handle a total of 52 million tons of cargo annually. The cement plant will possess the capability to produce 10 million tons, whereas the iron ore slurry transportation system will possess the capacity to transport 30 million tons annually.

“The Industrial Development Corporation of Odisha (IDCO) has granted JSW 2,958 acres of land for the establishment of an integrated manufacturing facility, with 30 percent of the total project land will be allocated to the conservation of forests and water bodies,” said JSW Steel.
