Center approves over Rs 6621 crore for the frontier highway in Arunachal

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister, said today that the center has approved the provision of Rs 6,621.62 crore for the construction of the ambitious Frontier Highway in Arunachal Pradesh. According to the minister, allocation has been made for the construction of eight packages on National Highway 913 (Frontier Highway), which will use EPC mode to convert to an intermediate-lane layout.
 
"The project extends over a total length of 265.49 kilometers. This initiative includes packages 1, 3, and 5 covering the Huri-Taliha section, in which two packages address the Bile-Migging section, packages 2 and 4 manage the Kharsang-Miao-Gandhigram-Vijaynagar section, and package 1 focuses on the Bomdila-Nafra-Lada section," the minister added.
 
The development of these highway stretches promises to boost socio-economic development in the state, enhancing connectivity in border areas. "The construction of the frontier highway is expected to curb migration and facilitate reverse migration towards the border areas of the state.
