Q. Quest Informatics is an IT services and solution company with a strong focus on aftermarket. How would you deal with clients challenges?

Quest Informatics has been offering best-in class Technology solutions for over 25+ years now. Our solutions and services have always emerged from keenly hearing to customers about their aftermarket challenges and we providing appropriate technology based solution addressing these challenges. OEMs, their Dealer & other stakeholders want to improve Service, Inventory, Sales, Training, CRM, Request/Complaint Management etc. However, data generated by several resources/systems and its integration to predict & proactively address business challenges on breakdown, inventory, and service related needs is a huge challenge. Extending legacy ERPs with emergent modular products and SMAC technologies is another challenge they face. These are universal problems across different industries for all players managing aftermarket business. So whenever a customer approaches us with their challenges, we first do a thorough audit of the company’s process and identify root causes, and suggest them appropriate solutions based on our knowledge repository of best-in class solutions.

Q. What are the upcoming products Quest Informatics has planned for Indian market?

Quick sense and respond is the need of hour. Whether it is prediction of parts failures or services, clients are looking for predictive analytics. Considering this, Quest Informatics is offering a responsive solution by integrating Internet of things (IoT), Artificial intelligence (AI/ML), mobility and AR/VR.

Q. Where does the Indian market stand in terms of importance for Quest Informatics globally?

India is a significant market for us. Many of our multi-year contracts are in India. MNC and domestic players in construction, heavy equipment and other industries have started investing significantly into aftermarket. Installed base of equipment across industries such as heavy equipment, construction, defense, sanitation & water, electrical is significant in India. India is a large emergent market and thus of primary focus to many OEMs across the world. India’s complex business environment, large and varied geographic terrain, high volumes, multiple languages, variable internet connectivity, and huge base of smart handheld devices is a challenge to handle and is therefore a great opportunity for us to provide smart and intelligent solution that our customers can rely upon.

Q. How big is the market opportunity for you in next 5 years?

Aftermarket market was around $335 billion in 2017 and the IT market is around $11 Billion. On- board diagnostics (OBD) market itself was about $1.1 Billion in 2017 and expected to reach $3 Billion in 2020. Aftermarket enterprise solution markets where Quest Informatics plays is $8.4 Billion in 2018 and expected to grow 17% YoY for next 5 years. US and Europe are two large markets. India, Middle East, ASEAN and Africa have not seen the high level of automation and integration as developed world. We are expecting our business to grow in tandem with the pace of global growth, with exciting new age technologies which provide our customer to fully leverage enterprise solutions potential to improve their business.

Q. Tell me something about your current projects and about your future plans?

Currently, we are rolling out a large implementation of Service Contract & EPC solution in North America (US and Canada) & Europe. This implementation covers Service Management, Inventory Management, Timestamp Management, Maintenance and Contract, Special Tools, Electronic Parts catalogue (EPC) for a fortune 500 company. We will be cascading the solutions to other parts of the world for our client next. On the services side, we are rolling out Parts catalogue Maintenance and Parts/Service Desk for global and local clients.

Q. Foreign brands are struggling to a gain foothold in India, How big it is a challenge for Quest Informatics?

Indian market requirements are unique. Operating in these markets requires deep experience of working conditions and an ability to offer affordable solutions. Indian consumers are well educated and informed of cutting edge technological innovations and unlikely so splurge on technologies just for the sake of it. To survive and grow in Indian market, IT service providers must be able to match best quality at the right prices. Many foreign brands attempt to “life and apply” solutions that have worked somewhere else, without understanding the business dynamics and market nuances peculiar to India.

With our experience of operating and growing in Indian Market for over two decades now, we have established a string reputation for high quality solutions and strong commitment to deliver as promised. Our experience of serving the fortune 500 and large domestic players stands a great stead against any competition, domestic or international. Also, Quest Informatics is an integrated player: we offer consulting, products, services and support to our clients. Most of the competition is just end point product companies with implementation support provided by partners with IT knowledge and with limited domain/industry expertise.

Buama as a platform helps us to showcase to the world our strong aftermarket domain and IT expertise for large OEMs. Many of our clients also participate and exhibit their new products in BAUMA. Apart from socializing with our clients, BAUMA also allows us to strike conversations with customers in our booth.
