Q. Liebherr is the one of the international company known for its construction equipment, kindly elaborate?

Liebherr was founded in 1949 by Hans Liebherr and company has developed in to group companies with a workforce of over 43000 people in more than 130 companies across all continents. Today Liebherr is not only one of the largest manufacturers of Construction machinery in the world but also renowned as a supplier of technically advanced, user oriented products and services in many other industries. The main focus of everything the company does is to achieve maximum quality. Liebherr is passionate about its products and concentrates on the point of view of its customers in order to develop bespoke solutions for them. This is by every single employee of the group of companies pursues this objective in their everyday work.

 

Q. Liebherr has introduced its new production site in India; please tell us more about this?

Liebherr started manufacturing tower cranes from our factory Pune since 2013, first model was 85EC-B5i, which has max. capacity of 5tons with working radius of 50m, Also the next series are indigenous models 6ton and 9ton versions NC-B6-62 and NC-B9-62 with working radius of 62.5m also produce from the factory since 2017.Cranes from factory Pune, not only cater requirements in India, but also export to our customers in Asia Pacific, middle east and Africa regions.

 

Q. What projects you working on currently?

Liebherr tower cranes are supplied on various projects in India mainly on real estate, especially on many prestigious high rise towers and also to ship repair and power projects etc.

 

Q. What are the opportunities and challenges are you facing and how do you cope up?

There are large opportunities in India for tower cranes as the demand may grow gradually, usage of tower cranes still an ongoing development in construction industry, still a major segment of the construction companies use old conventional methods for lifting materials which might change in coming years. Main challenge is the big price fight, especially due to Chinese products. Also other European manufacturers import their cranes (partly) from Chinese plants…many times at the expense of quality.

 

Q. What are your market strategies you follow to be on top among others?

Our policy is to be satisfied with our work only when the customer or business associate is satisfied. Liebherr products are focused always on quality, reliability and durability. Our customers believe our products and we also take views of our customers to produce our products the most reliable and customer oriented, technically advanced and one step ahead.

 

Q. What are your future plans and upcoming projects?

We will extend our portfolio of Pune-manufactured cranes in the future. Also within the next months we will launch new products that, to date, are not found in the Indian market.
